How does one help the little critters with our shaving tools? On the one hand we take from the noble badgers for our brushes. I've decided to give something back. After reading a thread on making a four sided paddle strop last year I decided to try it. I went to Lowe's and purchased a stair rail. I cut the rail in half and made a four sided pasted paddle strop, which worked very nicely. After looking at the remaining half of the stair rail laying in my wood shop for a few months I decided to help the critters that frequent our yard. Voilla, the four sided paddle strop squirrel and bird feeder! Simply take the post add four alternating and staggered double ended lag screws, the type used to fasten legs on tables. Fasten a platform below to keep the squirrels from eating the suet and hang a suet cage below the platform with an eye bolt. Hang in your favorite viewing area with a swivel and small chain. Be prepared to replace the dried corn every few days.
Best Regards
Terry
