Default acoldspoon's Entry into the B&B Hall of Fame

Please allow me to introduce myself:

    Username:
    acoldspoon

    What is your real name?
    Peter J

    What are your nicknames/aliases?

    Where do you live?
    Park Slope, Brooklyn

What is your age (or) generation?
    36

What are you in the real world?
    WEMT-Paramedic / SAR K9 Handler

What is your favorite shave setup?
Right now my shaving cache is as follows:
    Merkur Progress
Baxter Badger Brush made by Muehle-Pinsel
    T&H Grafton cream
    T&H Ultimate Comfort cream
    Trumper Violet cream
    Baxter cream
    Lots of samples of creams
    Baxter AS
    Baxter Moisturizer

What are your hobbies and favorite activities?
Last year was a doozy, I responded to Sri Lanka for the Tsunami, NOLA for Hurricane Katrina, and Pakistan for the Earthquake. It brought new meaning to the term "off season travel".

When I'm not touring the wreckage of a battered civilization, I like to hang out with my lovely wife and my goofy Search And Rescue Dog.

I like to cook. And eat. And drink.

I collect knives, but have no "safe queens".

What else should the members of B&B know about you?
My last meal, if you asked me today, would be at the Oyster Bar. I'd have:
    A couple glasses of Champagne
    A Caviar Sandwich
Six Oysters, mostly big and briny East Coast ones.
    Six Top Necks
    Six Cherry Stones
A bottle of something Austrian or Alsatian
    A Lobster Roll
    A Mixed Panroast
A couple glasses of Ice Wine
    Key Lime Pie

I am sensitive/allergic to almond shaving cream, but not to almonds.

    I am a bad speller.

Hey Brother. How's the DE working out for ya? With so many of us USN people wetshaving, maybe we should all do a trip to a NYC shave shop for straight razor shaves.

    Peter,

I've gotten into the bad habit of trying every razor and not really learning how to use any well! Oddly after trying the entire Merkur line, I seem to have settled on the Progress (where we started) and a Slant Bar (the only one I noticed any worthwhile difference with). I've also added 2 injectors that work really well for the days that I'm in more of a rush. On the up-side, I'm still getting more comfortable and closer shaves than I was with my old Mach3, so I can't complain.

I think mixing a meet-and-greet with shaving isn't a bad idea - anything that gets the local brothers together with sharp things!

    Best,
    Rich
