A quick hello from a newbie wet shaver. I have a buddy that turned me on to to WS a little while back, and I recently received my first razor (Merkur).
I absolutely love shaving with the new razor, but things have been a bit hit-and miss with my technique.
What I have learned so far: Barbasol is not the preferred shaving cream despite it's old-timey label.
Rubbing one's thumb over his buddies straight razor is not the proper way to acknowledge his sharpening prows.
You must not press so hard with these razors.
Brushes and REAL shaving creams lotions are sweet.
I am looking forward to learning the correct way to shave! Thanks in advance for all the help ;-) A little about me... I am a guitar player, a crossfit enthusiast, a runner with a few tri's and a marathon under my belt. I am also lactose intolerant.

I can relate to the thumb thing big time! I've done way more damage to my thumb than my face twice in one week in fact.
