layering brut and rive gauche

I tried this today and so far I think it works quite well!

I recently acquired rive gauche and while I like it, it strikes me as a bit harsh for the first hour or so and even a tad synthetic smelling. However, layering it with brut seemed to solve that problem and after an hour the mellower, clean, shaving foamy elements of rive gauche start to emerge just as the brut dies down.

I used brut on the face and neck as an aftershave, one shot of rive gauche on the chest. I'll probably add one for the wrists when I'm ready to leave the house.

I've done this as well - not with the Brut AS or Cologne but I'll use the Brut ASB and Brut Deodorant and then a shot of Rive Gauche on the chest for cologne. I've found the same effect that you have.
