Thank you, sir. I found the Proraso green on sale at Amazon and ordered two more tubs. That was a few months ago, before accumulating 20-30 other soaps. Sigh, maybe I should look to trade some extras. BTW, does the sandalwood smell anything like the TOBS tub of sandalwood cream?

I haven't smelled the TOBS sandalwood. Proraso is much more, I don't know... peppery or earthy... maybe more complex than other sandalwoods that I have used/smelled. Apparently they use real Sandalwood oil in Proraso, so the scent is a true Sandalwood, but there seems to be other scents in there too.

I like it, but it is far from the AOS sandalwood that I also like.

TOBS is much more synthetic and chemicly smelling then Proraso.

They were nothing alike to my nose.

Thanks for the thoughts on scent. I ask because I'm considering the TOBS or KMF for my next 3017. I'm concerned about some of the creams going bad.

I lathered some unscented AoS tallow for the first time tonight. The soap just jumped onto the Plisson synthetic and creamed up so easily. My son had some nice lather for his shave. ;-)

The AOS tallow is some amazing soap. The good thing with that one is if you get hooked, you can buy the Valobra to satisfy your want. I haven't tried any of the scented one, but the unscented is 1:1.

Can you throw glass in stone houses?? I have heard nothing but awesome comments about the Stone Cottage, can't wait to dive into my sample.

Still pushing through TOBS Lavender Cream. I just returned from a 4 day hunting trip and will use the TOBS to provide some protection for cutting down a 4 day growth. The performance continues to be fine, I am just growing tired of the purple color and the synthetic smelling lavender scent. I also miss using soap.

So I think I'm going to finish off a half tube of Proraso Red. I figure that should last me about 2-3 weeks or so.

SCS Pumpkin has entered the graveyard. Next on deck is B&M Nocturne.

For sandalwood, the Proraso smelled really off to me. I don't know if it's the shea butter or what. AOS seemed "pure" to me, as does SCS. I like a more "cologne" style sandalwood vs a straight one, so I went with TOBS. The TOBS sandalwood was a cologne type scent reminiscent of sandalwood and very appealing when I got a sample, but my full tub is very "chemical" smelling, and I'm not into it.

I really didn't like the Proraso version, but I may pick it up again just to see if it grows on me. Absolutely love the performance of Proraso cream.

2-3 shaves max are left for New Spice. The Semogue 1305 is really putting a hurting on the puck and delivering an astonishing lather.

Finished out the XXXt with 26 shaves. I think I had a few test shaves before 3017ing the XXX so I'll call a tub about 30 shaves for me. Fantastic lather, great scent. Two in backup.

I've been a long time lurker on this thread and have now decided to jump in.

I am going to start tomorrow (November 12th) with an almost-new Razorock Classic new formula. It may be the last soap I use this year. I will also 3017 my 3P pre shave cream and a bottle of Myrsol Plastic shave AS splash.

4.1g. Goes to show you, some of this stuff is expensive compared to hard soaps or tubs that are twice as big and cost 50% more

RR Classic is a good one. Good luck in your first 3017. I also 30317 my Pre-Shaves and at least use the same AS for the full tub, sometimes longer.
