Haha don't worry! Your secret is safe with me!!
Got a custom brush with a TGN XH knot coming to me in a few weeks. Looking forward to trashing some quality soaps with it!I've already made a solid dent in the Mike's by the way. Getting very concave, don't think it'll be too long till I'm seeing the bottom of that tin. I'm really looking forward to it!
I think my tabac has around 5 more uses and then it will pass on. Next up will be my Speick stick grated into tupperware... well about 4/5 of it as i need it for when i travel to spain in september.
I laid to rest one DR Harris Arlington stick today. Another fabulous Harris soap. Now if only they would make a Rose soap. Septrumper arrives soon, and I will be working over a puck of Trumpers Rose. In the meantime, I will play the field, and brought TOBS Jermyn Street soap on a trip for this week.

Lots of you finishing pucks this week! Feel like I'm dragging my feet with Cade, but enjoying it. Arlington or Rose next. Giving up on thoughts of a quick month of Arko.
Must be something in the tides, I also just finished off my JM Fraser Mosswood.
Again, the warm toned mosswood is a great product, now discontinued, but a poor choice for muggy summer days. I prefer to bowl lather, but actually found this cream to perform best when face lathering. I loaded the brush heavy and almost felt like I was slathering the cream on to my face and then working it a little before shaving. In the bowl, the cream whips up okay, but it takes more time than other products. Really a nice slick cream that doesn't bother with luxurious lather.
Having reread the first few posts on this thread, I can safely console myself in the thought that I am clearly only rated about a 2 on the 1-to-10 soap acquisition disorder scale. That being said, I do register on the scale and am working on some den clearing, as a bonus there is something satisfying about sticking with one product.
So, I have given away some soaps and creams and have six products that have been sitting around and I want to finish before moving on to the next. I am still not going to strictly stick to serial soap monogamy though - I will cheat a little on the weekends with some other products that are not on the line just yet and will continue to use QCS cayman for straight shaves.
I started sticking with the JM Fraser's on the 14 June and finished it yesterday morning, so two months to get through an already partially used product. If that trend continues, it will be more than a year before I even get to start using the brand new pucks!
For Monday to Friday shaves from hereon forward:
(All partially used)
1. JM Fraser Mosswood - 14 June to 17 Aug 2012
2. RazoRock Classic - 18 Aug 2012 to ???
3. Tabac
4. Body Shop Macaroot Shave cream
5. 1.5 Sticks of Arko!
6. Modern Williams
7. (Using for straights exclusively) QCS Cayman
Razors don't shave people. People shave people!
There are three critical types of moments in life: Times when we should use opportunity to be enamoured with finer details, and times we should ignore the minutia.
A quick question, so may Tabac is on its last legs and the soap seems to be making a sort of goopy/slimey type of lather off the puck. in the bowl with some water and whipping it seems to normalize. The shave quality seems fine just a strange consistancy at first. Anyone ever had something like this happen before?
Cabbage, mine did that. It was a really gross consistancy, but still whipped up into great lather

The main reason i really gave it much thought is that i put about 20 grams of a stick into a tupperware, used it and liked it better so then without letting it all dry out properly i put the rest of the stick in. so i think it could be due to left over water from the first part. thanks for the response!
I have spent some time during the last few days to catch up on this thread and it's amazing! There has been a lot of love towards DR Harris Arlington soap, yet It isn't something that i have found a lot of love in the limited roamings of the forums. I will have an order in shortly for a new D3, MWF, and Cella because MWF sounds amazing with the lanolin, and the Cella has evidenced a lot of support. Another reason is that they would give me examples of a good tripple milled hard soap and a soft soap.
My question is what does the arlington smell like? I believe Mr. Gold said it had a citrusy smell which sounds awesome to me. Would these soap destroying legends suggest that I buy Arlington, or find a place that sells AOS? other than those soaps that you have made me quite curious about, the only other i would really like to try is tabac, but would kind of like to feel what the legion of 3017 says are the top tier, best shavers in the world.
Also, i have been inspired by your tremendous efforts, and have been working exclusively with my VDH delux bar for the last few days and will do so for the forseeable future. Is it cheating that it's my only real shaving soap? i have some CO bigelow, but shaving soap feels better for some reason (the nice menthol, eucoliptis feel is great though)
Harris and AOS soaps are two of the best you can get so in true B&B fashion.....get both! You won't regret either. Arlington does have a citrus note to it as part of a more complex scent, so it won't smell like a pure lime or lemon.

As someone who owns an AOS soap, but never having tried a Harris offering, would like to know they compare. Any of you gents care to chime in?
-Matt
I have used one AoS soap as well as a host of DR Harris soaps (Arlington, Marlborough, Lavender and Windsor). Out of all the soaps that I have used, none come close to either one of these soaps. Both are A+ performers and neither would disappoint. As for a one-on-one comparision, I would rate them equally, giving DR Harris the nod for their choice of scents.

Bob
