    Default What a coincidence...

So I decided today to check out Singapore's only known wet-shaving paradise. The fabled Mustafa Shopping Center and while there decided to pick up a few stuff. Might as well right since I was there?

Anyway, I went home after buying myself a tube of Omega shave cream and a bottle of Tabac aftershave. I was thinking since I'm stuck with my fusion while I wait for my DE too arrive I might as well enjoy it as much as I can. So I reached home and saw this...

    "

And after ravaging the box open (no seriously, they used a LOT of tape)

I can't wait to put the blades in there and start shaving with this! Is there a fast forward button to skip till morning?

I'm guessing I have shaveden now huh?

PS: Sorry about the crappy iPhone photos.. Really need to get a proper camera soon
    Regards,
    Hanif

It's an EJ Best Badger brush in fake ivory. The EJ's are about the only badger brush I can find locally here but they are very good. Or at least in my limited experience

    Default First DE Shave

So just finished my first DE shave today and OMG I suck!

2 basic N-S passes but I missed a few spots on my face and got a little weeper on my left cheeck near the jaw. My main problem was I keep doing these long strokes like with my fusion. I think that caused my angle to slip-up mid-stroke. I had to keep telling myself to take shorter strokes. Other than that, pretty uneventful

But that menthol in the Omega cream! Woah!~
And the Tabac AS was a nice finish. I smell like my late grandfather now and I'm not sure if I like feeling like an old man Still like the smell though

    Hanif

I love the Omega SC. It's waaaay slicker than the TBS SC, not that the TBS is in any way bad though. I think I feel a menthol SCAD coming on.

Also loving the Tabac. Actually, I feel like getting the complete Tabac line There's a shop near my office that sells the cologne but I can't find the soap anywhere here. I've only seen the stick. Is it the same as the soap? Even then, I'm not much of a face latherer so I'd like to avoid sticks for now.

No, not all in one day. I've had the TBS SC and EJ Brush for about a month now. Been using it with my fusion.

Looks like a good setup! I'm glad the mail-order worked out for you. I would go ahead and buy the Tabac stick if it's available. It's the same as the soap, and you can face-lather it or mill it into a bowl.

Thanks! And thanks for the advice when I was till looking a for razor, you were the final nudge I needed to buy the DE89L.

And of course! Milling it! Why didn't I think of doing?
See, now I have to go back there to get the Tabac stick. I just bought the Tabac EdT though

Unfortunately the soap in the bowl is not available here. Which is strange since I've found just about every other Tabac product while wandering around near my office earlier today. Plus the stick is only $9

    Default Second shave... Ooops

Ok second shave done. Razor felt a lot more comfortable in my hand now. Not so awkward anymore but having said that, I think I may have overdid it a little.

While the first had barely any cutting action, today was a too much. I managed to add a third XTG pass above the neckline but that resulted in irritation and a cut on my chin. I really should slow down a bit but the sound of that razor cutting my bristles was just too tempting

Still trying to stop the bleeding on my chin now. Damn, should have gotten an alum block

    Hanif

Don't worry. That is your red badge of courage. Slap some cold water on the cut, press down, and then slather some AS on it to disinfect it.

The shaves will get even better.
