Here is the rare and relatively hefty (82gm) 1949 rhodium-plated solid plate version of the #66 razor. It's not very common for the No. 16 to show up for sale here or elsewhere -- so here's your chance to pick up this great British Aristocrat.
There are absolutely no flaws on this beauty: no pitting, plate loss, lazy door syndrome, or squeaky TTO mechanism. The case is the original, but it's interior is not in the greatest shape. The exterior is fine -- certainly suitable for storing or displaying this unique and amazingly effective razor.
The design of this razor head is like the #21 and Aristocrat Jr., with great balance for ease in smooth, comfortable, and close shaves. But this razor also has the shine and gleam that comes from rhodium plating.
I haven't used this #16 yet and it really looks like it was rarely if ever used. Whoever buys this excellent razor will be breaking it in -- and I hope someone does pick it up so I don't give in to the temptation.
Offered here for $187, shipped CONUS or CANADA.
