Hello from SoCal!
I used to shave with a Gillette Fusion, and the darn cartridges were so expensive I would usually tear up my face using the same razor for about a month or so. I was introduced into DE shaving which seems to suit my personality, because I love anything that incorporates 'the old way' of doing something. (I shoot mechanical cameras (I love my Leica!), drive a standard, etc, etc.)
I shaved last night for the first time with my new Merkur 34C, loaded with a derby blade and some CO Bigelow on an Edwin Jagger brush. I got about 3 tiny nicks, and I think they were from using a little bit of pressure (Yes, I know..NO pressure!)
Anyway, thanks to you guys, I wish I could shave already. I want to shave again and again until I have it perfected! Maybe I should find someone elses mug to shave, hah!
