    Default Divisional Round Playoffs

So now that Wild Card Weekend is over, what does everyone will happen next weekend in the divisional round? Who do you think will be going to the conference championships?

    Baltimore or Indianapolis?
    San Diego or the Jets?
    Arizona or New Orleans?
    Minnesota or Dallas?

What do you think? I feel like if Dallas can beat Minnesota, they can go all the way. They're hot late, have overcome two monkeys (not winning in Dec, and finally winning a playoff game in 12 years), and the defense is really coming together. What are your thoughts?

You guys are starting to hurt my feelings.

The only game I'm up in the air about is Baltimore and Indy. If defense truly does win championships then I'd go with Baltimore based on Saturday's game, and I really think that the loss of Bob Sanders hurt the toughness of Indy's D. And yet I just can't count Peyton out.

San Diego in a walk over the Jets. Could S.D. be the AFC representative in the Super Bowl?

New Orleans beats Arizona because that Cardinals D can't stop anybody. They were lucky to get out of their own stadium alive and they won't outscore N.O. -- Now that I've said that, Sean Peyton is going to have to get the attention of his team as they had a terrible slide after the Cowboys knocked them down.

Dallas vs Minnesota...man oh man I remember the days when the Bud Grant led teams were constant rivals of ours.

Dallas' Defense has turned into a monster late in the season holding two powerful offenses (S.D. and N.O.) to a full 9 points less than their previous season average. We are getting some plays out of Bobby Carpenter, finally! Mike Jenkins has matured nicely in his second year, and Anthony Spencer is finally playing like we thought he should. Need I mention DeMarcus Ware, Jay Ratliff? From the D-Line to the Linebackers, to the secondary there just hasn't been a player that has come up big in key situations the last part of the season.

On the offense side of the ball if we can keep T. Romo from emulating his childhood idol (Favre) and protect the ball and let F. Jones and T. Choice get the early carries with M. Barber as the closer in the 4th.

Favre is well known for throwing up the pick, and I think Dallas can and will take advantage of that. A. Peterson obviously isn't to be taken lightly, but he can be limited.

I hate to, but I'll have to agree with our arch nemesis Terry Bradshaw and pick the Dallas Cowboys to defeat the Minnesota Vikings at home. I think that it will be a more decisive win than a previous NFC Divisional Playoff game that Dallas won 17-14.

Baltimore - Indy got flat at the end and it will cost em.
San Diego - Just a better Team and Sanchez due to mess up.
Arizona - Don't overlook how this team gets up for the playoffs.
Dallas - Their pass rush is the difference maker.

I am pulling for the Colts, Chargers, Cowboys, and New Orleans.

I'm rooting against Minnesota with a passion. As a Bear fan, I have to hate Brett Favre. I can't stand the redneck named Jared Allen. He celebrates way too much and has a mullet. Also, having gone to college in Minnesota and having "friends" talk trash constantly whenever something bad happened to the Bears, I am all for the Vikings stinking it up.

Baltimore or Indianapolis - huge D last week.
San Diego or the Jets - the better team wins.
Arizona or New Orleans - Who Dat!
Minnesota or Dallas - Defense will win the game for them even if Romo reverts to his earlier ways.

Hats off to you on those picks. I was obviously stunned by Dallas' defeat and even moreso by the Jet's victory over perhaps the hottest team in football. A rookie QB over a QB whom I counted in the top 3. And it was the best game to watch (competitive -- ebb & flow) for the entire weekend.

We've all seen the comparisons of Sanchez with Namath. Do the Jets fans really see any similarities between the young upstart and the now Hall of Famer other than the jersey colors?

I don't think any real Jets fan could make any comparison to Broadway Joe now, only time will tell. A common saying among my friends is, "There is nothing like being a Jets fan in August and Sept." Expectations are high only to be let down by November. Most REAL Jets fans are enjoying the ride after so many years of disappointment. I have always felt that when you have one of the best, if not the best defense in the league and a great running game you should always be in the game. We all know that offense excites the crowd but defense always wins you the championship. Note that never in the history of sports has a team won a game on paper, no horse has won a race paper, the game has to be played and the race has to be run. So far the best part is enjoying the win during the week, because Sunday at kickoff my stomach will be aching.
The one thing I think the Jets have had in their favor is that no one is taking them seriously, everyone claimed they backed into the playoff only to beat the a good Bengal team and beat the much better (on paper) Chargers. So if the Colts (and I don’t think they will) follow in the footsteps of the Charges and Bengals I won’t be surprised if the Jets make it to Miami.
