Default Mont Blanc Starwalker Fountain Pen

So after owning my Starwalker for a couple of years, I got sick and tired of buying ink cartridges. They never lasted long enough and cost so much more than bottled ink. I would have happily bought a piston converter the day that I bought the pen, but for some reason Mont Blanc does not make one for the Starwalker.

So I just put up with it until yesterday, when I stopped into World Lux in Seattle and they happened to have one piston converter for a Meisterstuck in stock.

I bought it, went home, and got to work with the Dremel tool.

I now have the only Starwalker piston converter! It isn't "polished" but it is invisible inside the pen, so I don't mind. And now I can finally use my favorite pen that much more.

Pics of the converter when I get home!

Now you can experiment with some fantastic inks!

Be careful with the inks! They're deceptively cheap and add up in cost REAL fast. I had over 80 at one point and finally had to sell the bulk off.

Oh I have quite a few inks (12-15 bottles) that I use with some other pens, but the Starwalker has always been my favorite and up until now I was so limited in selections.

Easy alternative - refill your empty cartridge with whatever you want using a syringe.

Usually holds more ink than a converter using this method, as well.

But certainly an interesting idea...i'm interested to see the pictures!

That would have been the simpler fix. I thought about it in the past, but it would be rather inconvenient to do at my desk and might generate more questions than I'd rather like to answer. Even in my work crowd (investment banking) the Fountain Pen isn't exactly common. Though nobody ever asks to borrow one, which is quite nice (I'd tell them no anyways so I guess it just saves the hassle).
