I've recently come across this soap and I'm trying to find out some information regarding this soap, but have come up empty so far. Do any of you guys know anything about it? Thanks for your help.

From what I understand based on that particular website, this could be dated anywhere between 1941 and today. It would be pretty neat to find out that this soap is from the 40's, however I'd doubt it based on the condition of the wood. I wonder if there's anyway to really tell.
So it does have soap in it? OR is it just the bowl?
This was a great post .Thanks for a intresting read .

Based on the article and the time period shaving soap was mass market popular, I'd say it's from the 1940's or 1950's.

Unfortunately it does not. When I first learned of this dish and that it had belonged to someone in my family, I was pretty eager to try it. However as many of my extended relatives have already passed on, I'm not sure where it came from or really any of its history other than what I've read in that previous article mentioned in the second post.
