    Default Aftershave balm as moisturizer

I only shave every other day because I have sensitive skin and it can't deal with the razor against it each day. On the days I don't shave and at night, I still need to use a moisturizer. I am thinking of using the Institute Karite ASB as that bottle is big at 250ml and will last me a long time. It does not have alcohol so that is good.

I hope the IK ASB works well as a moisturizer and doesn't have anything in it that makes it to be used after the shave only.

Otherwise could you please recommend a non-greasy moisturizer without a lot of evil chemicals in it? I'd like something lite that absorbs quickly and doesn't leave my face looking shinny/oily.
    Have a great shave!

I use Saint Charles Shave milk as a moisturizer in the winter months when my skin gets really dry. AS balms, milks give me a little more moisture as I have extra sensitive skin.

What's the difference between SCS milk and balm?

    Bingo.

As to the difference between balms, milks, review the SCS website, or contact Sue the proprietor.

Usually milk (Dr. Harris, Gentlemen's Refinery) is more runny than balms. I put on Musgo Balsam (my go-to balm) every morning regardless of whether I shave or not.

I've been meaning to try the Musgo ASB for a while but I just can't find any in a small quantity. The reviews seem to be mixed so it may or may not work for me hence I don't want to commit to a big bottle as it's not exactly cheap.

My only concern would be that most ASB's don't offer SPF protection, and your face definitely needs that before going out!

My skin seems to be sensitive to one of the active ingredients found in creams with SPF: Octinoxate, Octisalate, Oxybenzone

And from what I can tell moisturizers usually offer SPF 15 which may not be enough anyway. It's a tough choice for me.

I was just reading an article about California Baby sunscreen lotion SPF 30+, if it's good enough for the baby skin it should be good enough for me too. Not cheap, but I'll give it a try when the sun starts shinning again.

California Baby also makes an Aloe Vera Cream, I might give that one a try as a moisturizer or even aftershave. Yes, I'm a baby, at least when it comes to my skin sensitivity!

    Cool Shaving tips

One tip of shaving is always use cold water. It will help the skin better than warm water after shaving.
