I read about using baking soda from a web site called Instructables.
My wife suggested I try it...
The idea is to use hot water and soap of some sort and wash your face well.
Then mix a paste of baking soda and hot water and put in all over you beard area.
Let is sit for a minute or so then rinse face with clean water.
Then shave with only hot water...
I have tried it several times to avoid the canned aerosol shaving stuff.
I shaved with the cheapo disposable razors I have and it does soften the beard and cuts easily.
I am not sure I will try this once I have a straight...
