Aristocratic Confusion?

Hi all. I'm not much of a poster, but I thought this might be of interest to the collectors concerning Gillette Aristocrats. I had always thought that the 1946/47 version had a smooth upper band and the no-notch center bar, and that the 1948-50 version had a knurled upper band with a notched center bar (pic #1), but, here (pic #2) shows an Aristocrat with no notch on the center bar but with knurling on the upper band. Strange, yes?

Interesting. Possibly another example of how Gillette left few unused parts, but incorporated them into current products?

All three are the the same -- knurled with a smooth bottom band.

Let me add to the confusion.....notice there is no print on this (46/47 looking Aristocrat).....

That is strange, I always assumed the notch and the knurled top band happened at the same time. Maybe there were one or two quarters of production between the changes?
