Forgive me if there is a thread already like this one.
I thought this might be a nice idea for members to get to know each other a little better and a chance for newbs like myself to ease into the B&B community and get to know what makes the regulars here tick.
Maybe this could be a weekly fixture.

1. If money was no object and with the wife's blessing, what would be your next expensive shaving related purchase?

2. Describe the perfect DE set up? (artistic license allowed)

3. What is your most prized possession and why do you value it so much?

4. Are you an obsessive person?

5. What first brought you to B&B?

6. Do you indulge in the creative arts as a hobby at all (writing, painting, performing, that kinda stuff)? If so, what do you do?

• If money was no object, my next purchase would be for some niche fragrances.

• I've already got my perfect DE setup (read my signature) - I just need to finish my scent lineup.

• Prized possession for just shaving? Shaving related would have to be fragrances. I can do without shaving at all or even do with bad shaves, but I hate stinking to high heaven.

• I keep my OCD in check very nicely, thank you.

• I came to B&B looking for a better shave.

• I write handwritten letters, cooking, photography, acoustic guitar and watercolor painting among other things.

Skye After Shave/Cologne - And even then I would think twice about spending that much.

2. Describe the perfect DE set up? (artistic license allowed)

The Barber Pole Slant with either Astra Superior or Red Pack Personna blades, the B&B Essential brush, T&H Grafton shave cream, Skye After Shave.

3. What is your most prized possession and why do you value it so much?

Shaving wise, the Barber Pole Slant for the quality of the shaves it gives.

4. Are you an obsessive person?

Does keeping an excel spreadsheet tracking the shaves, cost per blade, and cost per shave make one obsessive? Does being concerned about the Shavepocalypse make one obsessive? I think the answer is clear.

5. What first brought you to B&B?

In search of a better, closer, smoother, shave.

6. Do you indulge in the creative arts as a hobby at all (writing, painting, performing, that kinda stuff)? If so, what do you do?

Some very nice or niche fragrances and more straights.

I only have one DE so this is pretty easy. A Merkur Slant.

3. What is your most prized possession and why do you value it so much?

My most prized shaving possessions are two of my Great Grandfathers straight razors. Why do I value them so much? The are a connection to the past, to my family and to a slower way of doing things.

4. Are you an obsessive person?

No, not at all. Not even a little bit. Yes, I'm an obsessive person.

5. What first brought you to B&B?

I was fed up with how much fusion blades were costing me. I was also looking for aftershave reviews.

6. Do you indulge in the creative arts as a hobby at all (writing, painting, performing, that kinda stuff)? If so, what do you do?

Shavepocalypse The time, presumably coming soon, after which all high quality shaving products such as soaps, badger brushes, and razors -- but most notably DE blades and SE blades -- will no longer be produced, supplanted by cheap cartridge or disposable razors and canned shaving gels or foams. All "decent" razors (excepting straight razors) will become useless, save to those who stockpiled enough blades and other shaving products to last out their lifetimes. This fear is partly based on the fact that as incomes rise in developing countries, Gillette (now owned by Proctor and Gamble) and other manufacturers have begun to phase out the much cheaper DE blades in favor of introducing the local populace to cartridge and disposable razors, e.g. in much of Central and Eastern Europe.

After being lost in the wilderness and only recently seeing the light, surely I'll still have time to achieve my goal in the pursuit of the perfect shave?
