Edwin Jagger vs Muhle

I've heard that the EJ DE line and the Muhle R-89 use the same Muhle produced head.
What makes one brand preferable over the other? I assume they perform the same, and one would be about as durable as the other..

Why would one by an EJ over the Muhle, or vice versa?

I just have the new Mühle but as far as I understand it the difference is only about the weight of the handles; the EJ's handles seem to be heavier than the ones on the Mühle's. Quality seems to be near perfect on both so it comes down to a YMMV thing about weight and balance....

I believe more people have bought an EJ at this point simply because they're more widely available right now and tend to cost a bit less than the Muhle. Both companies make their own versions of the fancy handled razors with the same head, as well as a basic razor with a regular metal handle.
