Default Nostalgic "Speakeasy" bar,... no really!

I thought it good form to hit you fellas up with something that I feel some would find worthwhile and interesting!

If you are ever in the Bethlehem, PA area,.... and love the 1920s and 30s life or history, you may find a certain little speakeasy a nice place to hang your hat for a while. It's called, The Bookstore. It is a bar that is done up like,.. (you guessed it) a genuine 1920s 30s prohabition era speak easy. A bookstore in one room, but behind the curtains,... a speakeasy!

The only lighting in the place is that of about 3 actual electrically powered lights (very dim anyway) and the rest of the place is lit by candles and small oil lamps,... even in the bathrooms!

I've been known to play there once in a while.... 1920s 30s hot jazz.

So, drop by some time and say hi if we're playing!

Seriously, if I had not just moved from PA to Alaska I'd be there this weekend. Looks amazing.

WOW! Now that's quite the move!

Yes, it really is a nice place. If you do a bit of a search on the net about it there are some other photo that show up of it. I think I can get some for those interested.

There is a similar place down the road in Philadelphia called The Franklin Mortgage and Investment Co. It doesn't have a "front" store in it though, you walk directly into the "speakeasy". The prices are a bit high, but it's a decent place to go for something different.
