    Default Best Show on T.V.?

"Rome". Anybody else a rabid fan of this show?

Great show, and if they stay true to history seasons 2 and 3 will be much better than season 1. All the best stuff happened after Julius Caeser died. I'm glad you posted this. It looks like the season 2 premier is tonight, I had completely forgot.
    Cheers,
    Jeff

I read that HBO is pulling the plug after season II. Thank god for Tivo, I'll be glued to 24 and watching Rome later. Great shows......

I am still a fan of all 3 CSI's. Oh yeah this is really funny if you like CSI Miami.

I'll ditto that on the 3 CSI's, Tony. I'm a big fan. In fact, the original CSI (Vegas) is reportedly THE most watched show on TV.

On BBC-America I'm fond of Life on Mars. Hoping season 2 starts sometime soon. It has been the only show I've come back to week in and week out in awhile.

Haven't read through the thread but for me the best show is Anthony Bourdain No Reservations.

No; but I used to enjoy listening to the Jim Rome Show on radio. As far as TV is concerned, I enjoy "This Old House" and "Chef" (on PBS), and "House", "Gray's Anatomy", "Numbers", and pretty-much any NFL or MLB game broadcast on network TV (ain't got no cable or satellite). WRT TV sports: if I haven't worked-out that day, I don't watch sports... ya gotta earn the right to watch it.

    Holy Resurrected Thread Batman.

I would have to say the best shows currently on TV are:

    Mad Men
    Breaking Bad

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Yikes! No kidding.

But, in that oldie but goody spirit, I'll report that the three shows that see the most time on my TV are:

    The Andy Griffith Show

    I Love Lucy

    Star Trek

    All on DVD, of course.

Having younger kids, it's hard finding modern stuff we can watch together, but they love these old shows.

Ugh. It sickens me that the likes of CSI, NCIS, and Law and Order are on the air. Now L&O has decent scripts and acting, but it's still the same darn thing every week. All these shows are terrible. The fact that people watch these shows to the extent that there are spinoffs says a lot about how intellectually innept the United States has become.

That said, I'm partial to comedies. I watch Community, The Office, and Parks and Recreation every Thursday (when there are new episodes). I like Weeds, but it has drifted away from being great. Entourage is in the same boat, but got better last season. Eastbound and Down on HBO is awesome, but is only going to have one more season. True Blood is very good, but it seemed to jump the shark last season. Top Gear is great if you are a car guy. Extras was a fantastic show. Curb Your Enthusiasm is probably my favorite, though.

I am a big fan of Stargate Universe on the SYFY channel. It's on it's final 10 shows and then it's done supposedly.

Three-way tie between Dexter, Glee, and Archer (I have varied tastes).

It's Always Sunny, Archer, The Wire reruns on 101, Eastbound and Down, and Californication are probably my favorites out of the shows I currently follow. Other than Thursday night comedies on NBC, I don't care much for primetime network TV.

Californication, Treme, True Blood, and Law and Order SVU (I love me some Olivia)

Edit: even though they are re-runs i think Seinfeld is still one of the greats!!

    Old

Hogans Heroes - Same thing every show but I don't care. Klink and Schultz are two of the best characters in tv history. It cracks me up.

MASH & Seinfeld - Tie (imo) for best show ever.

    New
Community - About the only *new* show I'll watch. I think it's funny.

Various documentaries on TDC/TLC/History. I saw 2 or 3 episodes of "Underwater Universe" from the History channel and it was interesting.

Ancient Aliens - some interesting theories and interpretations.

Default I may be a little biased...

I may be a little biased with my opinion due to my location, and the fact that I "play" right where the show is filmed, but my favorite show is "Swamp People".
