Hi Guys
I've seen the discussion about Carbon v Stainless
but does anyone know anything about Manganese Steel?
I found this:
"Manganese steel, also called Hadfield steel, is used for very rugged service; containing 12–14 percent manganese, it provides a hard, wear-resistant, and self-renewing surface over a tough unbreakable core."
Sounds great for tank tracks, digger buckets etc but how does this equate to Straight Razors?
This recent ebay razor noted Manganese Steel:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-BARTMANN-Straight-Edge-Razor-w-Box-MINT_W0QQitemZ160058325296QQihZ006QQcategoryZ35990QQcmdZViewItem
And as an aside, how are the Bartmans generally? (i realise this could open a whole simpsons related thread )
Nick
