Got a nice shave using the open comb. I have used it before but found I couldn't tighten up. The top of the handle had split and then came apart when I tried to remove the blade. Bonded it back together with JB weld. Good as new.

A great BBS shave today!
I started with the Menthol Derby cream. I want to like these creams: I am a fan of the Arkos, which are also low cost creams from Turkey. I must say that the scent of the Menthol cream is, to me, much more pleasant than the Lavender, which I tried yesterday, although I can smell no menthol in it at all. Altogether, it is a lovely, light scent. The cream lathered well, but I found that its lubrication was insufficient for my heavy beard. It may be fine for others, YMMV, as always. The razor tugged when I started using it (on my chin): I switched to Alpino soap and it glided smoothly across my face. I finished with two more passes with the Alpino.
I used a 1960 Gillette SS with a new Derby blade (I love Derby blades!). Followed with Afta AS balm (Cheap and effective) and shampooed with NancyBoy shampoo, which I found complemented the Alpino shave soap quite well.
End result, a super smooth shave with no nicks. Very comfortable.

Did 2 N-S passes with the Straight, Exellent - no blood at all, pretty descent result.. But some stubble left.. Felt it was not wise to press my luck so I did my Finishing up with my Super Adjustable.. All in all : GREAT SHAVE !!! I feel quite hooked on straight shaving.. Need to learn and do some "training".. Happy as a pig in s**t...
