Default Another "stump the experts" picture

This purports to be a Canadian Gillette razor, accompanied by an evocatively masculine object that is described as a sharpening device. Can someone explain how it works, and whether this is really a Gillette set?

the friction of the 2 marbles is supposed to sharpen the blade.

You lightly run the razor between the balls
    Doesn't work on modern blades.

I wouldn't think the two-ball hone would be a Gillette product. The whole premise behind the Gillette razor and blade was no honing - no stropping.

The razor is a Gillette Tech, but that deal on the right isn't part of anything Gillette.

Gillette never did produce balde sharpening devices, and why would they? Their business model was built on selling disposable blades.

Looks like a ball end tech, but the lighting is poor here in Calif. Could be a clone. The other thing looks like a wild stimulation object.
