I have been lurking here for a few months and gotten a bunch of great information about shaving and equipment.
Many thanks to everyone I gleaned information from!
One of the best tips was to let the razor do the work and not use a bunch of pressure. With those multi-blade disposable razors you could apply a bunch of pressure and not easily cut yourself. Not so with a DE. I never really thought about angles when shaving before either. The DE is fun and a much better shave.
I have been using a DE for a few months now and am getting good results. I started using a brush when I switched and enjoy face lathering with it lots.
Never posted on a forum before, so this is all pretty new to me. Where do I edit the text below my user name to change it from lurker. I tried looking in the FAQ but the answer didn't jump out at me. Thanks in advance for the answer.

You don't chance the text under your name--it changes automagially when you increase the number of posts. In fact, by posting, you've already gotten to "Wetshaer Wannabe".
As for technique, I'm finding there's a LOT to (un)learn. I tried the "no pressure" thing but I just (as in two shaves ago) realized that I was getting my blade angle wrong and if you get that wrong, "no pressure" doesn't help. Everything has to be questioned and you have to make conscious decisions about everything, at first.
