    Default Golf by Feintechnik

I had noticed that the blade sticks out more on one side, less on the other. This morning I tried to use this and shaved WTG with the long (agressive?) side and ATG with the short (mild) side. Gave an excellent result. Is this difference in blade lenght a known fact with this razor (Golf)?

I don't know if we have the same Golf; mine are old east-German ones with DDR all over them. Badly knurled aluminium handle, PVC "safety bar" part with some nasty sharp edges and another aluminium top part that needed quit some labour before a blade would even go in.
The blade sits all wobbly in the razor and the whole thing is more of a gadget of a bygone era than something I would like to shave with. They (in an optimistic mood I bought 2) set me back less than DM 2 some 10 years ago.

The box they are in only states; Golf ein qualitätsbegriff, bewährt seit 1909.

So I think the name remained but the product is different.
I must to the barber's, monsieur, for methinks I am marvellous hairy about the face

Hello Harrie, they must have more models. I have the same box, but my razor is all metal (aluminum?) and looks quite decent to me. I would not be using it if it looked like yours. It is a great shaver. Especially now I found out how to use it. At first I was a bit confused about it as one shave would be great and the next not so close. Now I understand why. As I always use a blade twice (once each side), I had one shave with the agressive side (great) and one with the mild side (not close enough)

The Golf-DE-razor ist a bad one. There were better DE-razors produced in GDR. But none of them could be compared with the classic Merkur-DE´s.

But if you like a vintage DE-razor with TTO-head from GDR, the Feintechnik R2 could be a good choice. It´s a copy of the Gillette TTO-head.

I only know the R2 exists, have never seen one. I do have the R1, that is a nice shaver. A two piece razor, mainly in plastic. It is bit agressive.
