I'm considering the shaving soap and AS lotion. LX_Emergancy has posted reviews of both, but I thought I would see if anyone else had some input. I'm particularly interested in opinions of TAGMC versus Tabac. Thanks!

Not too many have tried the TAGMSC stuff. The soap is nice but "fades" into your skin. The problem for me with Tabac was that I got lather that was too dry. But that could be because I make lather wrong.
There's one more member on SRP that uses their stuff and he likes it. Not everyone likes the soap.
Everyone likes the aftershave balm though.
On the other hand now you're just getting more feedback from me so I'll shut up now.
Thanks for the additional feedback. Dry Tabac lather? That's a new one on me. What kind of brush are you using? Are you lathering in a bowl or to the face?
I may just break down and order a soap/ASB combo. It's dirt cheap, kind of like Will G's. How does the ASB compare to others? Do you know the ingredients?

I use a Kent 50% badger/50% boar brush. I rub my wet brush on the soap for a while and then into my beard.
The ASB dries quickly but doesn't feel dry or tightening. I can't really compare to many others since I've only tried about 4 and most of them are not very well known.
Ingredients (from the bottle):
Dist water, Glycerin, Glycol stearate, Acrylates copolymer, octyldecanol, Isopropyl myristate, Isopropyl palmitate, PEG-20 glyceryl stearate, Cetearath-14, Polysorbate-85, Water, Goat milk powder, Aloe vera extract, Propylene glycol, Diazolidinyl urea, Lodopropanol, Butylcarbanate, Lanolin, Lavender EO & Fragrance.
That should be it.
Hi Mike,
Not to change the subject, but I noticed that you're from Alabama. A friend of mine from Alabama, whom I "encouraged" to try DE shaving, shared this site with me the other day. Just thought that I would bring it up since the topic is goat's milk shave soap: http://www.goatmilktherapy.com/index.html
It's great to have feedback on the products we use, and to explore what's out there. What a great resource we have, here on B&B!![]()
