    Default New Member Hello

    Hi all

    I've been lurking on B&B for a few weeks after reading the wet shaving piece on MSNBC and now that my DE is ordered, I wanted to say hello.

    I've been shaving for years with a Mach 3 (and a Sensor Excel before that) and am looking forward to making the move to the DE experience. Although I have been using better shave creams for a while (Anthony and AOS) and have also used a pre-shave oil, I've not been using a brush or any solid kind of prep (although I always shave post-shower) up until this point.

    Now, my 34C and blade sample pack are on order from WestCoast Shaving, and my mother-in-law (who has always solicited suggestions from my wife for a holiday gift) is getting me the larger AOS kit (the four-piece with the Pure Badger brush, not the smaller 'starter' kit).

    In prep for all this, I've been trying to work on what I can with the Mach 3 and current supplies. I'm doing a more thorough prep: shower, PSO and hot towel for a couple minutes, a slow, careful shave with the M3 (WTG, XTG) using as little pressure as can be managed with the M3. I'm actually already happy with the improved results the additional care is providing and figure it will only get better from here.

    Anyway, a long intro, but I'm excited to be part of what seems like a very friendly and gentlemanly forum. As the equipment and supplies fall into place in the coming weeks, I'll gladly report back with my successes (or failures as the case may be).
