How to clean razors

What is the best way to disinfect safety razors? I'm getting some used ones, and I want to clean them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, gentlemen!

I don't know if there is a "best" way to clean them. Hot soapy water then a dip in alchohol works for me. Scrubbing bubbles or simple green if they are real junked up(but that could be slightly harsh on a vintage finish)

When I change the blade I take a cotton ball and a Q-tip with 99% Isopropyl alcohol. Does the trick.

I was using scrubbing bubbles until a member here (I think it was luvmysuper) suggested comet (the spray bottle). That's been working very well for me, and no plate loss yet.
Scrubbing bubbles just wasn't quite strong enough, and 'the works' will take nickel plating off quick.

Simple Green is a pretty harsh solvent. Will it damage old razors?
