Newbie question

Hi all,

I'm a real newbie to using brushes (well "proper" shaving too)....does everyone make a load of mess with lather flying everywhere when they slap it on there face

Let's just say I make a big mess over a large area.

maybe your lather's too wet?
try holding the bottom of the bristles with the handle in your palm, ie choke up, so you're pinching the hairs and go in gentle circles like that, should give you more control

Try using a painting motion to apply the lather to your face, rather than a slapping motion.

Sounds like you have too much water and not enough soap.
