Hello, all. I just received my kit from West Coast Shaving and thought I would share my first impressions before I shave tomorrow morning!
The razor, a Merkur Classic, is much smaller than I imagined it would be, but there is certainly a nice heftiness about it, and it feels solid in the hand.
The brush, a Vulfix 1016, is also smaller than I thought it would be. On the plus side, it is not as bristly as I heard pure badger brushes are, but I suppose I have no basis for comparison (yet!).
The blades, Shark Super Chromes and Super Iridiums, are accordingly smaller than I had predicted. They are also quite thin and flexible! I think I will start with a Super Iridium tomorrow morning. They come with four glue spots on one side, which I have put on the bottom side when I loaded it into my razor. Is this all right?
The cream, TOBS Rose, smells heavenly! It's also a gigantic amount of the stuff! A thin plastic cover was inside between the jar's lid and the cream; should I throw that away or leave it in?
Wish me luck tomorrow!
