I screwed up and ordered the brush directly vs. the gift cert. Paypal already paid the funds. Should I repurchase the gift cert through paypal or will you be able to migrate the funds? Or can you reverse the paypal and I will redo the purchase through the gift cert process.

    Sorry for the hassle.

I realize now that the final price is $135 + $10 shipping ... all I paid when I put in my reservation is the $10 shipping, since that's what the order form told me was the minimum order. I though that the balance would be due when the brush was ready to be shipped.

How can I rectify this and keep my reservation in good standing?

It looks like there's at least 3 of us that screwed up the order process, although my screw-up was somewhat different in its nature.

Its not the easiest e-commerce site to navigate ... I remember having problems when I placed an order for my Essential brush last year.

Anyway, its a moot point. The important thing is, how do we fix our orders?

    Hi Gent's

    My first post here

I have the Merkur/dovo brush that comes with the Vision DE set (well it will arrive in a day or two) I read some reviews and some people say the brush isn't great with hard soaps, some of which I would like to use.

My question is if I am going to buy a second brush to add to my kit, would this 2009 LE be a good contrast?

I am prepared to spend around $200 for a second brush if it is something that I will use for many years. What do you gentlemen recommend for me?

    Many thanks

I would like to order but am also worried about getting it wrong.

If I understand the process correctly we order a gift certificate for the dollar amount of our order plus shipping. In my case a single brush plus shipping is $145.

On the same order we make a reservation for the color option we would like with a value of 0 dollars.

Then change the payment method to paypal and drop the hammer.

    Is this accurate?

    Thanks,
    - Albert

Last year I was on the fence about spending that much money on something I couldn’t see or touch. Finally I placed my order within days of the ordering window closing. They good things come in small packages. In this case Joel and Comp. delivered an amazing brush in every way. Great things come is small packages. I vowed not to wait until the last minute if they ever do another Limited Edition. So I wasn’t the first to order this year only because I couldn’t make up my mind. Yesterday I made my reservation for the Ebony Brush. You won’t be disappointed.

    Hi sir towel rack

If you live near the US border, I recommend that you set up and use the mom and pop, mail and parcel sevices; they are always somewhere close to each US/Canada border crossing. Save a lot of headaches, quicker service and delivery, no import or local taxes (usually) and buy cheaper USA fuel while you are there; forget Fedex to your door, this is exactly what I always do. For me it is a win/win.

    Best regards

Just ordered my butterscotch beauty. It only took me 35 minutes of reading how to do it and realizing that I just needed to click the links in just the order that Joel listed them...duh. When all else fails, read the directions! Thanks again to all for putting these special buys together. Although the 2006 brush was a bit of a disappointment, it was still beautiful, and the 2008 is terrific! I just used it today: great with soaps and creams. I am looking forward to the sleek lines of the 2009 with another terrific knot from Kent.

    Thanks,
rAZor reports that it took 35 minutes of carefully reading and re-reading the directions to place his order. The process is cumbersome, to say the least.

I'm going to place another order tomorrow, and hopefully, I'll get it right this time. I'd hate to miss out on this.

I may lose the original $10 I put up (that I thought was just a down payment,) but that's OK, B&B can keep the extra $10. Its a small price to pay for the fine job that joel and the crew of moderators do running this fine board.

Default Detailed steps to ordering LE 2009

As I was ordering my brush I grabbed a screen capture of the major steps along the way. I had planned to post the images along with this thread entry but can not do immediately as some may be a little big pixel count wise. And I need to remove personal info from the last couple before posting.

In the meantime I will attempt to give a textual description, to elaborate on what Joel originally posted. I remembered that ordering last years was a little tricky and I saw questions in this thread so I tried to capture each step in more detail. I am posting this from memory and screenshots, if I am misstating anything please jump in to correct.

    Steps to Ordering
    1. Go to the main shopping page http://badgerandblade.com/shop/home.php and click on the link labeled "Gift certificates" on the left hand side of the page.
    2. This will take you to the Gift certificate page http://badgerandblade.com/shop/giftcert.php where you can enter in your details. Unless this is truly a gift for someone else I believe the only thing that really matters here are entry details "3. Choose an amount" and "4. Choose a delivery method". After filling in the details click the link at the bottom of the page labeled "Add Gift Certificate to Cart"
    3. This will take you to your shopping cart view http://badgerandblade.com/shop/cart.php. At this time you would only have 1 item, the Gift certificate. So at this point in the process you have positioned yourself to buying a brush(es) but who knows which one(s)? To do that, click the link near the top right side of the page labeled "Continue Shopping" which will take you back to the main shopping page http://badgerandblade.com/shop/home.php
    4. Now select which of the "Bestsellers" you want from the left hand pane. I went for the Butterscotch.
    5. This will take you to a page where you can add the quantity of that particular item. If you are ordering both a black and butterscotch them repeat this step again for the second brush color.
    6. After adding the brush(es) to your cart by clicking on "Add to cart" button you will be taken back to your shopping cart view at http://badgerandblade.com/shop/cart.php. At this time you should have a Gift certificate to pay for the item(s) and $0 cost item(s) to describe which brush color(s) you are reserving. If so, you are now ready to select the "Checkout" button
    7. You should now be on a page with URL of http://badgerandblade.com/shop/cart.php?mode=checkout I suspect most people are like me and do not have an account, in which case can select the "New customer? Click here to register" link. Clicking on that link will expand the page so you can fill out your name and shipping details. At the bottom of the page there is button to submit the checkout and continue (Sorry I did not get a screen capture of this button to describe it exactly, but it should be obvious.)
    8. The next page will ask for Delivery method and Payment method. Delivery method only gave one option for Fedex (since I am in US), so nothing to modify there. But the payment method is the tricky part as it defaulted to "Gift Certificate" but should be changed to "PayPal". This step was made a little more confusing since the text says orders for _2008_ LE brushes will be canceled if this is selected, but of course we are now ordering _2009_ brushes, but it does make one do a double take. Anyway since you don't yet have a GC and need to use PayPal change the selection and click the "Continue" button
    9. This will take you back to the shopping cart http://badgerandblade.com/shop/cart.php where you can do a final review of your name and address details. Then place your order by scrolling down to bottom of page and clicking the "Submit order" button
    10. This will take you over to the PayPal site where you can finish the payment
    11. A few minutes later you should receive your Gift Certificate via email.

This helps. I got hung up in the payment method section, but the clarification to choose Paypal worked. I'm in!

Hurt like a -er to part with the money, but that brush is just too nice to not go for it.
