Just got a reply from the seller. Here ya go....
I am starting to feel better about this.

Hello. Yes I am arranged to work with you. I want
to teach different models to you from Filarmonica,
this model is: Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple Sello
Oro, without recordings in the tang, also exists a
model number 13 Doble Temple with recordings in
the tang and without marks in the blade, it does
not doubt in asking the next time if it has some
consultation, to the person who I acquired these
razors worked many years in the factory of
Filharmonica and he yes that is a professional of
the mark, I after working long time with him has
acquired knowledge lifted enough of the mark.
Nobody informed into the manufacture of the razor
and its company until I gave that information. I
can assure to you that there are much diversity
and models different from the Filarmonica mark,
you can see diverse different articles in my
valuations. This model of razor is very difficult
to obtain and I have not seen any salesman had who
it for sale. A greeting. Antonio.

I don't think you need to pray. I'm 95% sure you've got a genuine article.

Default Also, see Filarmonicas at Classic Shaving

Ok, so if you want to see more Filies without the tang stamp, just look at what they are selling at Classic Shaving. The Classic Shaving razors have no tang stamp AND no gold wash on the blade -- just the word Filarmonica printed there in pretty plain letters.

Bottom line is what we all said before -- if it shaves well, KEEP IT.

Apparently those are old razors that are now being liquidated by the Filarmonica company through ClassicShaving. The Filarmonica on the blade is laser etched.

Also missing is the Filarmonica logo on the scales. I think the closest anology is the revival of those Le Grelot Blanks from TI.

Now THESE are the ones I've always suspected are actually GDs with some simple laser etching to trn them into Fillys. GDs shave well, add in a $200 price tag, and the new owner will think they are the best thing since the invention of the tuna on rye sandwich.

I got the razor in guys.
    Some things I have noticed.

    1. The blade is VERY heavy.
    2. Scales suck.
    3. Gold wash is messed up.
    4. The blade is not 6/8. it is the same width as my 7/8 friodur???
    5. The part I am a little concerned with is... the part of the spine that touches the hone is straight on one side of the blade but has a slight dip on the other. That has me worried about the quality of manufacturing. Is this common?

I am sending it to max tomorrow to hone it up and see how she shaves. If she shaves like a dream, we will throw some dream scales on her. I'll post pics!!!

I would think that the tang stamp would be a function of the forging process though (which would mean that it would be applied before either grinding or gold washing the blade). If they knew enough to know that the blade was flawed, it would have been too late to unstamp it.

Let me get this clear. Are you saying that they meant not to stamp the tang and that is not because the blade was a second? In your opinion.

I got my filly from the same seller, and it was slightly bent at the spine , so I got an exchange for another one which was in great shape.
the first one was with no gold wash, probably newer stock. The second one was Jose Monserat Pow.
The scales of Filarmnonica are notorious for sucking badly.
It looks like the blades run larger than the advertised size (my #13 is also ~7/8)
Now the heavy blade is something I am not experiencing in my Filly, but it might be a difference in perception of what heavy is.

On a side note, to the more experienced users is it possible that the Jose Monserat Pow are better quality grinds than later production Fillis?

When you say "The second one was Jose Monserat Pow." do you mean the tang was stamped?

How did you know your spine was warped?

no problems with gold wash or blade it,s self
it's my first filarmonica so the weight issue, i can't comment on,
the plastic scales do suck, thats my next task
my only other razor is a dovo 5/8
i got it honed @ vintagescent & i have to say she shaves great
i'm happy with it overall that i would have no problem in getting another one,

yes stamped tang: #13 Filarmonica Double Temple, Jose Monserrat Pou, gold wash.
The first one was just stamped something like #13 Double temple , no gold wash.
Here is what the bend looked like:

hope you can see the bend in the second pic.

What I'm saying is that gold washing is usually done very late in the manufacturing process. It is easy to damage and requires that the surface has already been ground and polished.

Stamping, otoh, is almost always done very early on in the process. It is usually completed right after the blade blank is forged. At that point, it would look like a nondescript hunk of black metal. After that, the shaping and grinding would be done. Then the edging, followed by the polishing and final honing. Only then would the gold washing be applied and the scales assembled.

Whether or not this was a second, the lack or presence of a tang stamp would have no bearing whatsoever.
