    Default Week of Injectors!

I'm going for a week of Injector shaves. Open to all Injector types, Schick, Pal, or others.

I'm no Injector expert, the two I currently own are a bakelite handled Schick that came in a box dated 1942 and a plastic handled model I'm guessing is from the 50's.

Photos encouraged, and I'm eager to hear from those who haven't tried an Injector yet, or haven't used them for some time.

Ok, I am in. I have a Schick Hydro-Magic. I will start this "challenge" tomorrow.

I recently picked up a NOS Pal injector cartridge with 20 blades in it. Curious to know how those will shave, but will spend the first few days using my Rite-Aid brand Injector blades.

P.S. I have only used my injector 2-3 times.

I suppose I'm in by default, as my shaving rotation is down to two razors, both Injectors.

    Injector day one:

    White handled Injector
    Prairie Creations Spiced Rum soap
    ASR blade from Post Exchange
    Tweezerman Brush

Three passes, BBS, one weeper on the chin that required a touch of the styptic pencil. Finished with Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave. Still enjoying the menthol blast as I post.

This is going to be a boring week of great shaves.

I am in too, but will try a Schick (E or G ) razor this time. With the Schick NOS blades and the PAL NOS blades.

I'm in...2 shaves...Very good and fast...Since joining this site I enjoy taking my time shaving...My only complaint with Injectors is that they get the job done so fast!

    -Proraso Pre/Post (used as pre-shave)
-Schick Eversharp Hydro-Magic w/ Rite Aid Blade
    -European Palmolive SC
    -Penworks 22mm Finest Badger
    -Witch Hazel
    -Aqua Velva Ice Blue

I did two passes, WTG, and XTG, with some minor touch ups, and I have a very nice, close, comfortable shave. No nicks, or weepers either.

My Injector does a great job, it's only flaw (if you want to call it that) is that it feels so much like a cartridge razor. That makes it too boring to shave with to be my daily shaver.

This was also the first time I have used the Palmolive SC, and I am very impressed, a rich thick cushioning lather, and a nice clean scent to boot. It's not the awesome smell of Erasmic, but it gets the job done.

Ok, since today officially starts the Weak of Schickness, I started with an M-2 Adjustable by Schick, lathered up some of the Kent branded MWF with my beehive. Blade is from Meijers (looks like Pella/EMS re-branded). Must be my day for rebrands. Finished with WH & AV.

Four passes & BBS, as always with this razor. I plan on moving the blade around a little, between my small collection of injectors.

Default Speed shaving with an injector

This week's shave fell into line when I bought a minty Type F Schick (with ultra-cool art deco case) on Saturday.

Weekends are for experimenting (thanks to the time they allow the skin to heal), so I went at it on Sunday.

It was my first shave with an injector (although I already have a couple of Type G Schicks).

I put in a fresh Schick (Chinese) blade and had a WONDERFUL shave on Sunday. I was really impressed because the first use of a blade usually is a bit rough. It was one of the best shaves I ever had, comfy and smooth. I even had my wife run her hand across my neck (although she was less impressed than I was, truth be told).

This morning (Monday) I was running very, very late for work and instead of grabbing the Gillette Slim set on 1, for a fast, but safe shave, I went for it with the Schick.

Since I wear a beard I only shave my neck.

The result? Half my neck is enjoying a smooth, wonderful shave. The other half hurts like hell, but, all things considered, it could have been much worse.

The real test will be if I get any ingrown hairs.

So, half a brilliant shave and half a bit red, with some definite tender spots.

Still, the Schick was a real joy. The type F is a handsome razor (aluminum handle and partially gold head) and has more heft and substance than the type G.

    It looks like a keeper.

I look forward to tomorrow's normal slow-speed shave, which I suspect will be much better.

I would like to think there is a lesson in there somewhere, but, being chronically busy with work, I somehow doubt it. The Schick was so smooth that I think I got off easy.

I'm going to be a day late, but I'll happily join in tomorrow morning with my Personna injector.

That is a nice looking Schick - how aggressive is it - could you calibrate to a Fat Boy? I mean, is it a 9 or a 7?

Used a Schick G8 ribbed handled injector today for the first time. Not sure what drugstore blade I used. Way more aggressive than my Revere injector. Good smooth shave after 2 passes that rivals my Monday morning DE shave with a Feather blade(I do not shave on the weekends). Curious to see how many shaves I get out of the blade and how the razor and blade treat me on a daily basis.

    My setup:
    AOS pre-shave oil
    AOS unscented
    AOS AS Balm
Unknown vintage ivory (real) handle badger brush
    Alcatraz Island metal cup
    G8 Schick Injector
    Drugstore blade
