can anyone identify this beastie

Just got this today I'm guessing it's badger as it is really soft in feeling there were a couple higher priced boar brushes, but they didn't seem as nice. Have no idea what it is

four band brush

what does 4 band brush mean LOL

Well there are 4 bands in the hair of the brush. Black tips, white band, black band, white band at the base. Most brushes come only in 2 or 3 band. In fact, every brush I've seen except this that is badger hair comes in 2 or 3 band (There are the pure black Plissons though).
I almost wanna say that someone dipped those tips in ink...hmm...

Black badger cased with light badger for looks? Horsehair cased with badger?

I'm guessing it's badger it is not at all a stiff brush, and it's softer than my vulfix super badger

dyed nylon?
