    Default cracks in my razor

    the past 2 straight razors that Ive bought online Ive had small cracks in the head. Is this a common thing???

    No, it's not too common, but it does happen. Razors are much harder and much more brittle than knives.

    Thanks. Will the crack get worse??? Will it affect my shace???

    They both were from the same place. I prob. should starting buying from some one else. Any suggestions???

    If the crack is small and high up, you'll probably be ok.

    If the crack causes the blade to flex abnormally (i.e., the part of the blade under the crack flexes differently than the rest of the blade, I wouldn't shave with the razor.

    If you couldn't see the crack in the picture (I'm assuming that these are e-bay razors) and the vendor indicated the razors were in good shape (assuming the cracks are readily visible), I'd be inclined to complain and ask for a refund. I'd certainly not buy any more razors (or anything else, for that matter) from that vendor.

    sorry but theres one more question. Is there anything I can do to restore or even maintain the razor???

    There's nothing you can do to fix them. Whether you can live with them depends on where the cracks are, and how big they are. I've got an old frameback razor with a crack right at the heel that doesn't really affect the shave or the strength of the blade.
