Place towel in a very large latte mug and fill it with boiling water from the tea kettle.

At this point, I have only used tap water to warm it up, and it is warm, but certainly not barber shop hot. I have thought about using the tea kettle, or using the microwave, but I haven't convinced myself that it is completely necessary yet.

However, I do hate how my lather gets cold because the mug isn't hot enough in the first place... That's it, I'm using the tea kettle tomorrow.

I use the leftover water from my electric kettle after I fill my DB 1.5.

Same here. I just set the towel in the bottom of the bathroom sink and let it get wet with water as hot as I can stand, without being scalding, then wrap it across my face for a couple minutes.

Far far away. I boil water in the tea kettle in the kitchen, then take it down and
pour it on a washcloth in the sink.

That's what I thought. I'm considering for the moment having my shaves in the kitchen where boiled water and a microwave are close at hand plus the bench is a perfect height for my mirror.

You can put the wet towel in the microwave oven for a minute. It's gonna be fine !!!

I have to admit I haven't done the towel prep yet. What kind of towels do you use? Is it workable to get a big pack of terry cloth towels or something? It seems like you'd need a fresh one every day if you're putting over a layer of lather.
