Thread: Razor In Red

    Default Razor In Red

Here is another restore for a forum member. This is a no-name, presumed Sheffield steel which was apparently used in the medical field, per the original scales having a medical insignia on them.

Scales are red acrylic with a black and red spacer, brass pins and washers. For the wedge, I actually just used some vulcanized fiber, (aka: fish paper, liner material) and superglued a couple of differently colored pieces together. Let it set for a few days, then sanded it to shape. Worked very well.

    Blade MFG: Unknown
    Blade Grind: Wedgy
    Scales: Red Acrylic
    Wedge: Black & Red
    Pins: Brass
    Washers: Brass

I wonder if Chris de Burgh uses a straight?

I believe you mean that it's a true wedge. Even then, it's a step or two below that.

This was my first thought too. That is my wife and I's song. It is a pun because she is a red head.

My lady is blonde, but I like to change the color to match whatever she's wearing at the time. I have to say "lady in red" has a nicer ring to it than "lady in orange."

Nice work. I, too, like the idea you had with the wedge.

Haha, ya your right, it is pretty much a wedge. Funny though, cuz it shaves and hones like a hollow, :biggrin
