Default QED Mocha Java & Chocolate Soaps

Maybe it's just me, but ... I find that both the Mocha Java & Chocolate soaps produced by QED are different animals entirely from the rest of his line. Something about the chocolate and coffee oils that he uses in both of these soaps alters the lather in such a way that (to me, at least) they feel & behave much more like tallow-based soaps.

Specifically, I find them to be loads creamier, smoother, and more protective during the shave, and to leave my skin feeling smooth, moisturized & healthy post-shave, to the point where I almost don't need to use an AS. Hey, I said "almost."

Has anyone else had this experience? What say ye, brethren??

I am waiting for the day when I can try any QED products. Its on top of my wishlist. Shipping to Canada leaves it out of the question

I have tried to order his sticks but the website is such a cluster I can't even begin to attempt it. I will not purchase a shave stick unless he updates it and makes it more user friendly and use many of the other products out there that I am sure are just as good if not better.

Yeah I couldn't figure out where stuff was on the site.

And to top if off, his website stated to ask before ordering since products usually go out of stock very fast, when I did he sent me back a very rude response.

Gentlemen, gentlemen... Charles' site has been the longest running joke in shavedom. You will not find a kinder more knowledgeable gentleman than Charles. He may sometimes be curt in an email reply but he is very generous with his time and knowledge if you call him. Yes, his site is a mess. If I ever want to order anything from QED, I just call him. There was a world before the internet.

    What he said.

Yes, it's unfortunate that you still need to call Charles to place an order (after all, that wacky "internets" thing is just a passing phase, right?) but you couldn't find a nicer guy to talk to. And yes, his email responses can sometimes be curt. Don't take it personally.

So be it, he won't be getting my business.
