    Default NC Starter Brushes?

I'm looking to put together a starter set for a friend of mine and the only thing that i need is a brush. I wanted to get him something serviceable, so I thought that I'd avoid the CVS cheapies. Anybody know where I can find an Omega or something similar in the Triangle Area?

I bought this Tweezerman badger brush at the Harris Teeter in Old Raleigh Village at 3201-123 Edwards Mill Rd.

Not sure if we have anyone who stocks Omega brushes locally. I surely wish we did.

Opulence in Saltbox Village in Cary (on Kildaire Farms, behind the remodeled McDonald's, next to Outback) has some wet shaving toiletries- Edwin Jagger, Bronnelly, HJM, brushes, razors, etc.

Just Neem in Cary (http://justneem.com/collections/shaving-soap) has Mühle-Pincel brushes. I think you can make arrangements to do a local pick-up from their office.

You can find Marvy's and other shaving stuff at Sally's Beauty Supply in Brier Creek.

The knife store (don't remember the name) down in MacGregor Village in Cary had some Co. Conk brushes and supplies; unfortunately, they've closed.

Doesn't Bath & Body Works carry shaving brushes? If they do you could pickup a brush and some CO Bigelo cream too.
Grandson of an Italian barber. Must have this in my blood.

The ones around here (Triad) don't carry brushes...they barely carry anything for men!

Last friday I was at one of those Halloween stores and since it was next to an Ulta so I decided to stop in to see what they had. They did have one brush there. I cannot remember the brand, but it was not a brand I was familiar with, although that is not saying much.

Sorry, forgot about these folks. Met them at the NC State Fair last week. They're just up in Franklin Co. Very nice soap. I bought a bar of the Pomegranate.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. How is the Carden Farms soap? Did you get the shaving soap?

No, they only had bath soap at the fair. Although I haven't shaved with it yet, in the shower, the Pomegranate smells GREAT, lathers well and lasts a long time, a small amount goes a long way. It is VERY slick.

I will be flying into RDU next Monday for business. I would likely stay within the immediate area (and I'm unfamiliar with the area) but are there any places worthy of a visit?

    Thanks in advance.

Just came across this. Can someone help point me in the right direction? I'd love to find a store that carried Taylors of Old Bond Street.

There are several fellahs from that area, but apparently none of them are on right now! LOL. I'm sorry I can't be of any help, as I am from the northern Piedmont and haven't been to the Triangle region in several years.

The closest place the I am aware of that stocks Taylor's is London's in Charlottesville. It's a good 3.5/4 hr drive from RDU. My son and daughter-in-law are in grad school there and we make the trip periodically. There is really no direct way from RDU to C'ville. Now, if you're staying over the weekend- yes!

If you're staying near RDU, you'll be convenient to many of the locations detailed in the posting you linked to.

The most convenient will be the locations in Raleigh- Crabtree, then North Hills, then probably Luxe. Never been to Luxe, but when you're at North Hills, continue on the Lassiter Mill Road. South Pointe is the opposite direction toward Durham. Cary will be convenient to RDU as well.

There might be a retailer on the list, but I don't personally know of any place in the Triangle that sells Taylors. O'Neil's at University Mall in Chapel Hill has Truefitt and Hill EdT, shaving cream and even a scuttle. They've also got some Royall. Otherwise, there's not much around here that you can't find anywhere else.

On the other hand, what we lack in shaving gear we make up for in BBQ!

Thanks. I didn't realize that O'Neil's stocked T & H. I just last weekend visited A Southern Season. Can't believe I was right there. Oh, well, looks like another trip to Chapel Hill this weekend.

Allen & Sons on Rt. 86 between Chapel Hill and Hillsborough is excellent. The BBQ Shack in Chapel Hill is also a great and little known treasure. Bullocks in Durham is popular, but I think that the BBQ is just OK--but the portions are endless.

Crook's Corner in Chapel Hill is also a nice restaurant--one of the first to try to do new things with Southern cuisine. They're famous for their Shrimp and Grits. Lantern and Jujube do a nice job with local/Asian fusion.

Is this the BBQ shack that you speak of? At least a relative of the one you mentioned in Chapel Hill?

Is this Allen & Son BBQ?

I'm staying right by RDU but will have a rental car.
