Default Man vs. Food Marathon Today (Sunday)

There's a Man vs. Food Marathon today on the Travel Channel. If you haven't seen this show, you'll be astonished (or disgusted) -- it's absolutely nuts.

Suicide by gluttony, right there on the Telly Vision.

    Woo hoo!!

Getting paid to eat. Not a bad job if you can get it. Although stuffing yourself like he does is disgusting imo.

That was on when I was at the Gym.

I busted out laughing when he had to eat the fire wings, that were so hot that he could barely finish two of the 10!! Those things must have been insanely hot!!

Haven't seen that one (and not sure I should) but check out Chefs vs. City on Food Network. They usually have to stuff themselves at some point but probably in a less disgusting manner.

Tried to contact The Travel Channel to recommend dumping Man vs Food, but they wisely have dropped their contact us button.

Maybe I'm one of the few who enjoys Man vs. Food.
The fact that there is not much good on TV nowdays maybe has something to do w/ that.

Even if I was put off by the gluttony, it is but one small part (last 5 min) of the show. The bulk of the show examines some famous eateries, what they serve, those who frequent them, and why.

I agree with you. Other than the attempt to eat something huge, the show is a lot like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Food Network with Guy Fieri.

Except that the Man vs. Food guy doesn't make me want to stab my eyes out.

I actually like Triple D a little better than Man vs. Food, even though they are essentially the same principle (except for the competition part).

I, too, love this show. I dont watch much TV anymore, but this show is one of few I enjoy. I also enjoy Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives on the food channel.

I like it a bit more as well. Guy came to a local eatery recently, and the episode is supposed to air some time in November. It is called T-Bone Toms if you happen to see the episode.

I happen to like both shows, though I don't go out of my way to watch them. I did see the Man vs Food that introduced the "Juicy Lucy" style of hamburger, which my wife was able to duplicate beautifully.

That was a good one, of course it was up here in Minnesota lol. I don't mind either of them, while not high quality TV it definitely is watchable and you learn some neat things about the various restaurants.

Cool. We always complain that he never comes anywhere near us, so we never get to actually try any of the places.

Oh, it will. I think I have gained at least 10 extra lbs. as the result of watching thee two shows. It's virtually impossible not to go make yourself a grilled cheese sandwich, or reheat some leftovers to eat while viewing.

Thanks to the travel channel, My wife and I went to Kansas City's Arthur Bryants and Memphis Rendezvous within a few weeks.

I like watching Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. I try to keep an open mind but I think his innards are made of steel.
