I know of someone on another shaving site who I'm sure has more than 5K. Trying new blades and evaluating them is a hobby of his, and he's very good at it. He has enough years of practicing technique that he can get a decent shave out even of a so-so blade.

I just did a quick tally and realized I have a little over 600, in descending order of quantity:

Treet Durasharp Classics
Dorco ST-301's
Shark Super Stainless
7o'clock yellows
Personna 74's (have yet to try them)
Polsilvers
Super Iridiums,

and a smattering of others.

Also over 3,000, but just barely. All blades made before 1999, some made in the early 70's.

Highlights:

Over 1,100 Gillette Super Stainless
500 Schick Plus Platinum
700 or so Brit Wilks
360 Personna 74's

plus a bunch of others.

Oddly enough, I don't collect razors. I only shave with the Krona.

Started out with 100 Feathers and 100 Merkur... After spending too much on band-aids when using the feathers, got rid of them and am sticking with the Merkurs. Hope that blades are not limited by the government so I can continue to get them... ;-)

I wonder if I win the prize for this thread. I currently only have one blade, and it is in my razor. Is that prize worthy or disdain worthy?

Presumably it means that you can easily buy your favorite blades in a nearby shop. That would be a good thing.

Indeed. It would be great. But this is so rarely the case. Thankfully we have Internet shopping.

Right you are. My favorite blades are Dorcos, and I never have trouble finding them. But, oddly they are sold in stationary shops, right next to the stickers and pencils, as they are used for arts and crafts most commonly here.

I only shave 2-3 times a week. So i dont go through blades real fast.

Just scored a pack of 100 Red IP's off ebay saving myself $13AUD if i bought them in Aus.

Should last me a long time to come :D :D

All up ive got around 140 blades, so in theory i will use 3-4 blades a month lasting me around 3yrs with my current amount.

i have around 3800 blades. i am a head shaver also so i am hedging my bet that my favorite blades wont be discontinued.

iridium supers
perma sharp supers
7 oclock sharp edge
feathers

i think out of all my blades the treet durasharps for face shaving for the price and performace are my favorites.

for head shaving hands down for perma-sharp supers.

the least amout of blades i have in 1 brand is 50 up to a 1000 of a brand.

After my sample pack is gone I'll probably grab 100-200 astra's and 50 Feathers. The red pack IP's seemed pretty good but the Astra's are nice and sharp, which I need. They last about 4 shaves too so I use 2 ish per week.

Currently running about 20 assorted blades with 20 Astra's on the way.

I must be a minimalist. I currently have about 20 assorted blades that I plan on using, plus another 15 or so blades that were not good to my face and will be put away. I will winnow down the good assortment so I can concentrate on stocking up on some Feathers, 7 o'clock yellows and Red IP's.
