there was a sale (still is actually) on ebay, 500 derbys for $24.99 shipped, so I bought 1000. (my favorite brand and ten cents a blade!). So I now have 994 left. At two per week, that should last me about 9 and a half years.

I have around 150. About 30 of these are Treet variations that I may never get to. I am really liking the Shark Super Chromes. Bought a 5 pack along with a pack of Blue Birds recently. Looking forward to trying the Blue Birds but It will be hard not to reach for another Shark based on the recent performance.

    Well, let's see...

Astra SP ~ 1500 - Absolute Premium blade for me, so smooth in most razors I don't even feel the blade.
    Feather ~ 200
    Personna Med Prep ~ 300
    Timor ~ 200
Various blades to try, 3 or 4 different gillettes, some red personnas, wilkies both uk and german, rapiras, voskhods, ladas, derbys, etc. (5 to 10 blades per pack)

I consider myself very lucky to have Astra SP's as my go to blade. I paid less for the 1500 Astrs SP blades than I did for the Feather, Personna Med Prep & Timor blades combined, but one ought to have a little variety in life. I shave all week on one Astra so the math tells me I've got over 30 years of blades. At my age that's a lifetime supply so I'm done with BAD.

Yes, there is one. The episode showed how German chroma blade, and merkur vision was made.

and assorted groups of 100 blades from various makers.

These will more than last for the remainder of my life. Especially now that I am using a straight 95% of the time. Actually, it just might be time to engage in a little stash reduction if I can ever find the time to go through all of them.
I just hope I'm handy when you decide to part with some of those Iridiums & Swedes. I've never had the opportunity to try them & I'd be interested in a couple 100's if the price is right.

I currently have 100 Sharks, about 85 Astra SP's, about 90 Personna Labs & a handful of misc. 5 & 10 packs (Wilks, IP reds, Feathers, Ladas, Rapira's & Zorriks). At three to four shaves per blade, I'm good for three to four years.

Once Whitebar sells me a couple hundred Iridiums & a hundred Swedes, I'll be set til I retire. If the shavepocolypse comes after that, I'll just quit shaving. Of course, while my BAD is currently under control, something could trigger a relapse (hint).

Since blades are so cheap, it's so easy to have a stockpile of them.
A man cannot have enough blades, it's like gold !

    110 Schick
    100 Shark SS
    100 Israeli Personna
    100 Supermax SS

There's already an active thread of the very same theme, now dropped back to the second page. This thread should never have been resurrected. Better yet, that newer one should never have been started but this one continued instead back then.

But this is how things go here. On other forums, the mods would combine such threads and be handing out warnings to guys who create new theads left and right instead of contributing to existing, exactly or very similar threads which can be found going only one or two pages back. Of course: As such behaviour, all too common here, only generates a lot of noise but little substance. what is worse, it dillutes the value of the existing contributions as they are effectively lost and remain not part of the active conversation.

It is thereofre not worth one's while to contribute anything too deep in a thread. The thread will die in a two days' time any way as a new one bearing the same title will be started the day after tomorrow on the first page. And that thread will repeat the fate of the previous one. So why bother spending any time on writing a reply when that contribution will never lead to nay discussion, will not be read by other members, will not help anyone at all -- it will be lost in the noise in one or two days.

There are currently threads going on about interesting razors I would like to share my experience on, but do not write in them as I know someone will start a yet another slant or whatnot thread by Wednesday.

This is the only un-moderated forum I have been a member of.

No other board I participate generates such a number of new threads a day as this one; yet very little genuinely new material is being generated here in comparison.

I don't know about others, but I am starting to feel B&B is really sinking quality wise. I see less and less incentive to write anything beyond "one-liners" here these days.

Wow. What has me baffled is why you opened up the thread to begin with. I usually ignore threads I'm not interested in. By the way, I was being facetious.

I just ran across a screaming deal on another 100 Personna Labs & 200 7o'clock yellows bringing my total to just over 600. Do I have to vote again???
