Default A question about the site...

Is there a way to quickly monitor threads either you started or replied on? I cannot seem to find a way to do this anywhere. Thanks for the help.

If you click on the "search" button, right below the box is a link for "advanced search". The top right box lets you search a specific user name, just type in your (or whoever you're looking for) user name, and away you go.

If you click on "Go Advanced" when you are typing your reply (unless you have a quote in your reply, in which case you have already "gone advanced") and scroll down below the box in which you type your reply, there are options for "Thread Subscription," in which you can choose to receive instant, daily or weekly notifications.

    Hope that helps.

That will work too, but it results in stuff in your PM or email. Whichever you prefer Doc.

I thought the OP said he wanted to "monitor" the threads in which he had posted. If you want to just look through them, another option is to click on your own username at the top of any one of your posts and then go to "statistics". It will give you the opportunity to see all of your posts or all of the threads you started.

I didn't catch that he said "monitor" rather than "find". If he's looking for that level of keeping track of stuff, then subscribing to the thread would be the way to do it.

You can choose to subscribe to a thread and receive no email notification. If you click on "User CP" in the upper left, it will show you the threads that you are subscribed to if there has been any activity.

I don't personally like to do it that way (too many e-mails), but some do.

Same here, that was why I recommended that he search for his own name. Keeps the PMs and emails to stuff I might care about, rather than somebody gravedigging a thread I lost interest in years ago.

User CP - Edit Options - Default Thread Subscription Mode - choose the option you like.

Personally, I like "Instant email notificaion" to get notification instantly to my gmail account so I can keep up on any thread I ever posted to.

I'm pretty sure the software has a "My Topics" and "My Replies" option, if an Admin would set it up it would be extremely helpful. I too use the search function and type my name in but if there was just a button for it it would be nice.

Both methods are good - Search on your username or subscribe to the thread. I rather use search my username...
