Default West Coast Shaving complaint! ... all's well that ends well!!

Recently I ordered roughly $200 worth of products from the site, I was quite eager to get the products ASAP so I chose the shipping option (Priority Mail Int'l 6-10 days ) since I live in Canada, the shipping costs me roughly $50.

It's been 3 weeks so I went on the usps website and checked my package, on it says " USPS Intl First Class " ....

What the heck? That option was the CHEAP option which costs only $20 and takes "varied" amount of time to get here!!!

Did you contact the vendor about your complaint?

Emailed them yesterday, so far no replies yet.

Hopefully they can explain why it was shipped that way

I have ordered from West Coast Shaving in the past, and have received great customer service. Wait for a response from the vendor, as I'm sure he will do what is necessary to make everyone happy.

Considering just about everyone here from the CONUS has dealt with WCS, you don't have much to worry about.

More than likely your shipping will be credited and you probably will receive some goodies in the mail as well.

Hope you get your goodies soon mate, I know a wait can sometimes be frustrating.

I've ordered from WCS myself and just paid for regular delivery.Took just 2 weeks to Aus and I felt the service was great. It may have just been an honest mistake either on the part of WCS or the postal service. I'm sure you'll be happy with the service though mate, especially in the long run. Good luck!

John from WCS is a member of these boards. He goes by LetterK. He's a great help around here and likes to maintain WCS's good reputation.

1 - You can't necessarily trust ANY information about shipping provided by usps's website...their tracking info is the worst.

2 - I don't know why, but Canada's mail is extremely unrelable. My sister lives up there and it sometimes takes weeks to get stuff sent in any format.

3 - I echo the trust in WCS...John is one of the best vendors out there.

WCS does indeed have an excellent reputation here. In general, I think that you should realize that many of the on-line vendors for wetshaving supplies are not full time businesses run by multi-national conglomerates. It's a guy or gal who does this in addition to whatever else they're doing. I know it's hard in the internet-driven era of instant gratification, but maybe it would be worth it to give them some time to respond before dropping a dime on them in an internet forum read by all of their potential customers.

I wonder if you might have ordered an alcohol-based aftershave as they tend to complicate shipping (which would just add to the complication of an international order...). Whenever I order a splash, the delivery time is easily twice as long as an order without an alcohol-based product.

That said, I'd like to echo my complete satisfaction with WCS and their service.

I have ordered quite a few things from them. On one occasion they did make a mistake on my order and I had to wait several days to get it starightened out. I think its a small operation so it takes them a day or so to act on any issues. But mostly my experience has been great.

were it me I would have waited more than a day for a reply before a big public thread about an issue.

Either way, wouldnt your problem be with USPS rather than WCS, and it be worth trying to chase it down with them?

I think the big challenge might not be Canada Post but the border itself and if you ordered aftershaves that draw the attention of border services/CRA due to the alcolhol content, be prepared to wait.

I stick to domestic vendors for aftershave, I just don't want the hassle.

This is often the case for me when I buy from non-US sources, or sell to non-US members. I think that's just how it goes and we gotta deal with it.
Westcoastshaving is one of the best sites to buy from, hands down.

I had to e-mail him to ask about other shipping options as on the website it wouldn't let you pick another shipping method until checkout, it was a little confusing, but he quickly cleared it up for me. You might confirm it was shipped at the lesser option and request a refund of the difference between it and the more expensive option. I have found this vendor to be a great and trustworthy one that is always willing to do what is right. Please keep us informed of your outcome as I am sure it will be a good one. I would just ask him respectfully and kindly and he will bend over backwards to help you.

I have had nothing but good experiences with them in the past. I would imagine that the shoddy USPS tracking is to blame.

Also, wouldn't it be in better taste to allow at least 24 hours for the vendor to respond to your inquiry prior to a public "flame job"?
