    Default Taylor Soap Stick

Just wondering what you fine gents thought of this soap stick? Is it worth the extra coin compared to Speick or Valobra? How is the Sandalwood scent compared to the St. James?

No, not IMO.... I have both the Taylor sticks as well as the Speick & Valobra. The quality of the lather from both the Speick & Valobra is far superior than from the Taylors...

    YMMV

What scent to do you prefer of the two then ? Speick or Valobra? Also which one is a more protective lather?

The Valobra is more pleasant to my nose. The Speick smells nice too though. Lather is equally good with both.

TOBS sent is a little nicer but not worth the price in a stick. Cream TOBS might be worth to some. Like me.

    Chris,

I was just in Colonial Drug today and looked at the Taylor Soap Stick.

Been thinking of trying a Stick and this is the only one I can find locally so far.

    The price is $15+tax.
But that is Colonial for you.

It did have some great reviews in the REVIEW section.

Also thinking about making a stick from using VDH in a deodorant container stick.

Yeah 15 is a bit much.

You wouldn't go wrong with either Speick or Valobra, but I prefer Valobra. Rumor has it that they make the stellar AoS soaps, and the lather the Valobra stick makes is every bit as good.

I love the St. James cream, and now that I'm a soap guy, I bought the stick. I think I prefer the scent of the cream better; it seems to be more "complex".

Also, I'm having trouble with the stick. I can't get the best lather from it. For reference, I don't have that problem with the Tabac stick, so it's not that I don't know how to use a shave stick. I wonder if it's the soap...
