If you're not getting a smooth shave, you're not using enough pressure.
 
For the SMOOTHEST possible shave, firmly grip the razor with a fist around the shiniest metal part and go to town with the scales on your face. Enjoy!





Bring Band-aids...
 
Use approximately a 70 degree angle and push as hard as you need to. Also, too much lather just gets in the way. The drier the shave, the better.

You will not have a good shave until you have spent several thousand dollars collecting expensive, rare and custom-made razors.
 
Forget the Thumbnail Test and the HHT. A straight isn't shave ready until it can cut paper without pressure.

Also, be sure to cut some cardboard with your straight before each shave.

And remember to use a hack and slash motion - like you're wielding a machete and cutting growth down in the jungle.

Man... the second time in two days I quoted myself. I think I've got the beginnings of a real problem here.
