    Default shaving legs?

I am a new straight razor shaver and my wife wants to get away from the disposable razor ripoff. She wants to try a DE and I don't know anything about them. What should she try that isn't too agressive but will still give her a nice close shave. By the way, this a great sight.

My wife uses a long handled Merkur. Skinny handle. I can't recall which one it is, it's a 3 piece razor.

I would definately suggest a long handle for leg shaving. You can find a Vintage Lady Gillette as well.

    The Lady Gillette

...Just so you are aware, I don't really know. I just said Lady Gillette because she is a girl. I'd feel bad if you took that advice, and the thing sucked.

how about one of the little Gillette travel razors that show up on ebay?
They're very mild and forgiving. The 2" handle and light weight are not at all intimidating.
You can find an unused (NOS) one usually for little more than the cost of shipping.
I bought one out of curiosity for $3.00.

My wife uses an Merkur HD. Pamper her sometime and give her a straight shave. She'll love the pampering and the shave too.

the merkur 23c is a long handled slim 3 piece.
I have one and it shaves nicely.

though I don't use it on my legs.

    actually, how about this?
If you'd like I'll send you this 1969 basically unused version and throw in a derby blade too. They call that PIF here.
I don't need it. It might a good start for your wife and if not - pass it along.
Send me a PM if you're interested.

I gave my girlfriend one of the small Gillette travel razors NOS. She absolutely loves it. My mom uses a Lady Gillette and she loves it too.

Nice one. My g/f uses a Futur set at 1 which she likes.

Hello. As a woman, I can say that the 38c is a fantastic razor for shaving legs and underarms. It has a nice long handle that does not get slippery when wet. I haven't taken off any skin that was due to anything other than user error. I have tried a few vintage Gilettes, a Edwin Jagger something or another, I prefer the 38c.
I'm just here for the pie. Mmm, pie.
