What's a Mergress?

Can't stand it any more. I have to ask. What is a Mergress? Is it a modified Merkur Progress adjustable?

Yes, one of B&B's members Mer created a custom metal handle to replace the plastic Progress handle. The rest is history.

you can now also get wooden handles for a progress, which while is technically not a mergress is still pretty cool

Someday I will own one of these. B/S/T has not been so kind to me with my desire to own one. Seems I need to sleep with the B/S/T by my side and have a PM already written saying "I will take it" for when one of these shows up.

The Progress is a great razor and Mer's modifications make it extra classy.

Wooden handles did someone say?! Wich one (briar, wenge?) and where to do it?
