  1. Default Creed at Costco.com

    http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...S&Sp=C&topnav=

$139,99 for 4 oz. Is this a steal? I don't know a whole lot about Creed other than it's highly regarded and very expensive.

Well, it's a steal compared with Neiman Marcus, for example, where the 4 ounce bottle would cost $250. But a quick google search turns up some scents on Amazon -- though sold by other vendors -- in the $120 range for the same size.

Costco, on the other hand, has a very good return policy. The only downside is they don't seem to carry the fragrances I liked best, notably Creed's Bois du Portugal or Green Irish Tweed.

Great price, but each costco has different inventory sadly.

I haven't seen any Creed at the stores, but this you can order online.

I've seen Tom Ford at the stores though

It's a good price, to be sure. Just know that Costco is not an authorized seller, so authenticity can't be guaranteed. Often the talk of authorized sellers and authenticity is just a bunch of ballyhoo put out there by "the man" to make sure you pay the prices "he" wants you to. But in the case of Creed, there is some reason to be cautious going grey market, given how often the scents are counterfeited. Costco will no doubt take back a fake, but the problem is recognizing it's a fake. If you've nothing to compare it to, how will you know, let alone be able to prove it? Still, if you feel like taking a chance, you'll be dollars ahead should you get the real deal - which odds are you will.

I'd guarantee with 99.999% certainty that it is real.

On what do you base that statistic?

It's authentic old stock. The top notes just won't sparkle as much as a new bottle purchased at an authorized dealer.

Here's the question. Assuming it's the real deal, it makes perfect sense to buy it from Costco instead of NM, and save $100. right? You can always spray some on one forearm, go to NM and spray their tester on the other forearm, wait an hour and compare the two. If the Costco is old stock that has lost the top notes, wouldn't the $220 bottle from NM also lose its top notes by the time you could conceivably use it up anyway? I mean, 4 oz. goes a long way.

Hmmm...what are the odds you'd fall into that statistically accurate 0.001%?
