How do you sterilize a brush?

Looking to give a brush to a friend. I only used it once but I would like to get it clean anyways. Thanks

clean and sterile are very different things!

If you are the only one who has used it...a wash in antibacterial soap should be sufficient. If you or your friend is really freaked out by using a used brush, you can soak it in Barbicide for about 10 min. at a very diluted mixture.
