    Default Scentless Tabac?

Has anyone else noticed that Tabac looses its scent over time? I have had mine for a few months and it is nowhere near as strong as it was when I first purchased it in July.

surely that's a good thing. I think the scent is a little too strong for my taste, but I still love how it performs

One thing that I have noticed about the Tabac jar is that it doesn't seal tightly. It is designed to ventilate slightly.

I can only hope this is true.

I keep mine in an open mug....hoping that funky odour leaves soon.

I would cry if it went scentless. Mines a few months old and still is about the same.

Of course it won't, not unless you wait for years on end. The scent is evenly distributed throughout the puck and can only get out by diffusion to the surface, and that is a long and slow process. Honestly, you'll get rid of the smell quicker by just using the soap.

The scent of my Tabac hasn't diminished and I have had it over a year.

Mine doesn't seem to be losing it's scent. I find mine to be rather mild. Then again after using an Arko shave stick for a week after not letting that thing air out... almost anything would seem mild.

This is encouraging news....I may someday actually be able to use Tabac.

I feel the same way. I leave the top off of mine for that reason.

This appears to be happening with a lot of soaps (e.g. Arko). Although the scent is ok to my nose I don't mind if it vents a little.

Yes, I've noticed it. And it's a good thing, since the soap smells like cat litter.

If you think Tabac smells bad, do not even think about using Arko

Honestly, I love the smell of Tabac. It is my favorite.

The smell wont leave for years. But you will probably desensitize to it over time and notice it less.

I looooove the Tabac EDC, but the soap is quite, um, funky.

My Tabac soap is just starting its second year of use, and smells about the same as it did when I first got it.

Although the scent is quite strong when you get a brand-new, factory-fresh puck, it diminishes over the first few shaves as the soap absorbs water and gets broken in.

I noticed that it was pretty strong when I dug it out of storage last week. It had been unused for about 7 months, but once I used it, it returned to its normal mild(er) aroma.

If the loss of scent bothers you, just get a new puck every year. At around $1 a month, its one of the greatest bargains in the shaving world.

Like said previously mine fades with lack of use but soon returns with use, I like the scent but I'm the guy who loves almost all the scents sooo that means it doesn't get used as often as it deserves It has to wait its turn
